Hi, I’m Janneke (Yahn-ica). I was born and raised in a beautiful coastal town called Buffalo Bay in South Africa. In 2020 my husband and I packed our lives into two small bags and moved to the other side of the world and set out to make Australia home.
Storytelling is what I'm about. I want to capture you – your love, your heart, the essence of your story. Capturing moments of a couple and their loved ones is a massive privilege for me. I genuinely believe that we as humans discover a whole new level of beauty when we see the magic in the small things around us – every moment matters – big or small – and I absolutely love capturing those raw and real memories for people. We’re all about capturing who you are at your core – I don’t care about your makeup, the wind that ruined your hair, your knobby hands, the scar you got when you were 6 or if you’re wearing shoes – as long as we can get raw and capture your story. I love real people, really in love. I love real moments – the intimate, the in-between, the teary, and the ugly laughs.

For me, photography is all about capturing the moments that happen between the big ones—the little, unscripted things that make a day unforgettable. It’s about catching those real, raw moments that show who you truly are. I love getting to know my clients on a personal level because that’s how I can really tell your story. My approach is relaxed and easy-going, and I want you to feel like you’re just hanging out with a friend, not being “photographed.” I’ll guide you through it, but mostly, I just want you to enjoy yourselves. The best photos come when you’re having fun and feeling comfortable, and I promise, when that happens, you’ll love what we create together.

I’ve always been drawn to the messy, beautiful parts of life—the quiet moments, the genuine laughter, and the small gestures that really show how much people care. That’s what fuels my passion for photography. Every shoot feels like a new adventure, and I love the challenge of capturing something fresh every time. My style is pretty laid-back, free, and natural. I get it—being in front of the camera can feel awkward, and that’s why I work so hard to make you feel at ease. I want you to feel beautiful and confident, just as you are. The best part? You’ll have those photos to look back on for years, reliving the emotions and moments that really mattered.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me with a book in hand, trying to ride the waves on my longboard, or spending time with my beagle boy, Kaizer (who may or may not get extra treats when he’s being extra cute!).
I’m always looking for new crafts to learn and adventures to embark on, and traveling has been a huge part of my life—having moved from South Africa to Australia with just two bags, I understand the beauty in embracing change and new experiences.
That’s why I love wedding photography so much; it’s a way to document people’s journeys, their stories, and the love that drives them. It’s an honour to capture that on film, no matter where we are or where you’re from. Your love story is unique, and I can’t wait to tell it.

On your wedding day, I’ll be there for the big moments and the small ones, quietly in the background or right in the center of it all, capturing memories as they unfold.
From the early morning buzz of getting ready, with your bridal squad helping you into your dress, to the laughter and tears during your vows, I’ll be there documenting every moment, every detail.
I know that wedding days can feel like a whirlwind, so I do everything I can to keep the day running smoothly. I’ll help keep things on track, make sure everyone’s calm and ready, and ensure that you have the time to soak in the joy of the day. And when it comes to the photos, I’ll guide you through both posed and candid shots to create a collection of images that tell the full story of your day—every laugh, every glance, every little moment you might have missed. I’m all about those real, authentic moments that bring your day to life.

We were lucky enough to have Janneke as our wedding photographer. Not only did she capture the most incredible photos of me and my bride tribe she also managed to wrangle my camera shy husband and capture some wonderful photos of him. We were so impressed with her vibe and photos that we had her take family photos recently at our favourite place Brooms Head. I have never seen such love and joy coming through our photos.
